The Festival Journey

The Zdravko Banar Festival is more than a performance schedule β€” it is a curated cultural experience set between two historic cities on the shores of Lake Ohrid πŸŒŠπŸ›οΈ

Each day blends heritage, nature, artistry, and international connection 🌍✨

Day 1 –

Arrival & Lakeside Welcome πŸ¨πŸŒ… Arrival and hotel accommodation from 12:00. Time to unwind, enjoy the lake, connect with fellow performers, and settle into the atmosphere of Ohrid. Evening dinner and informal gathering 🍽️🀝

Day 2 –

The Stage of History: Ohrid 🎭🏰 A guided journey through the spiritual and cultural heart of Ohrid β€” PlaoΕ‘nik, Samoil's Fortress, the Ancient Theatre, and the iconic St. John at Kaneo overlooking the lake.

18:00 – Official Festival Parade through the city center 🎢 21:00 – Grand International Concert featuring all participating ensembles 🌟

An evening where tradition meets a world-class stage.

Day 3 –

Flowing Culture: Struga 🌊🌿 Experience the poetic charm of Struga, where the Black Drim River flows from the lake through the heart of the city. Visit the natural wonder of the Vevčani Springs and enjoy a relaxed afternoon immersed in local atmosphere.

A day dedicated to cultural exchange and authentic Balkan hospitality 🀝

Day 4 –

The Lake Experience 🚀β›ͺ Optional boat cruise across Lake Ohrid, followed by a visit to the historic Monastery of St. Naum β€” a place of serenity and breathtaking views.

21:00 – Official Leaders' Reception, exchange of gifts and certificates, and formal closing ceremony πŸŽ–οΈπŸŽ

Day 5 –

Departure ✈️ Departure after breakfast, carrying memories, connections, and new friendships across borders 🌍

  • Groups participating in the 4-day program begin with the schedule from Day 2.
